So in mid-January Jim left Greer to head over to Harkers Island to get things started on building our retirement home. The first few weeks consisted of getting various permits and approvals from the local powers-that-be. Jim found himself a small,very basic, apartment on the island so he would be close to the action on Harkers Island!
As you can see in the pictures below, some wintry weather rolled in..........the locals said 'it never snows on Harkers Island". Really? LOL
The first picture is taken from the same point as the picture in the first post.....if you look carefully you can barely see the dock. The second picture is of the boat ramp that is in front of our lot (doesn't belong to us, belongs to our neighbor across the street). The third is taken from the inside of Jim's home away from home........
